HOW I KNEW THAT I AM A TEACHER

PART OF MY STORY

How did I end up being a Math Teacher?

Upon leaving one of my graduations my older brother, who was already studying at the university, asked me: And do you know algebra? Because if you don't know algebra upside down, you're going to hit college.

When I answered no, he gave me Baldor's algebra book to study and learn algebra. And in all my vacations November December 1986 and January 1987 I devoured that book. I loved algebra so much that when I went to enroll in college I took the Bachelor of Mathematics curriculum.

But when I told my dad that I was going to study he told me: "And mathematics you are going to study as a teacher you are going to finish"

Of course that answer shocked me, because the image that I had of a teacher was one of those who burned tires and stained walls and I did not want to be that.

So I decided to enroll following the line of the German Honduran Technician: Industrial Mechanical Engineering.

21 years later at my job I was sent to Germany to receive training on the company's machinery. When I returned, my boss told me that I had to teach the plant technicians about the subjects I had learned in Germany.

And so without wanting to want to, I ended up teaching. I taught classes all day Monday, paradoxically it was my favorite day of the week because I loved teaching.

At the same time around that time, exactly on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. reading the book "THE PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESS" by Jack Campfield I found a phrase that revolutionized me: IDENTIFY WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE, THEN DEDICATE TO IT BECAUSE THEN YOU WILL BE HAPPY.

This phrase impressed me so much that I realized my calling. This thought began to revolutionize my mind:

"I SHOULD HAVE STUDIED THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN MATHEMATICS AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TEACHER."

And so it was that 21 years later I discovered that I should have studied the Bachelor of Mathematics and that I should have been a teacher from the beginning. I understood that my purpose in life was to be a TEACHER by divine calling.

Today 15 years after that moment I am a 100% Teacher. I love what I do, what I am. It truly is a tremendous privilege to leave an indelible mark on my students.

NOW IT'S YOUR TURN:

IDENTIFY WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE, THEN DEDICATE TO IT BECAUSE THEN YOU WILL BE HAPPY...
